COLLABORATION AGREEMENT WITH THE HOSPITAL SANT JOAN DE DÉU

For the first time in its history, the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona has signed a collaboration agreement with a museum, the Museum of Toys and Automata in Verdú. Through this unique agreement, the Museum’s aim is to bring the world of toys closer to the kids following treatment in this children’s hospital.

The Museum will very soon start a series of didactic activities in the Hospital. There will be various workshops for children, and the Museum will donate a batch of toy sand games for the Hospital’s toy library, as well as free entrance tickets to all the kids staying in Hospital. The medical staff will also have the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating day in Verdú, visiting both the Museum and the medieval town.

The Museum shows its universal vocation and its wish to cooperate with those in need by defending liberty and identity, and by helping to develop a more civic, committed, and prosperous society.

Thanks to this commitment, the entity guarantees the same opportunities of enjoying the visit to all visitors, and offers lower entrance fees to those segments of population with less income.

The Museum collaborates in several social and supportive projects and works for the development of a more prosperous society. Thus, it has carrie dout activities for the Marató de TV3, the Children’s Hospital SantJoan de Déu in Barcelona, and the Hospital Arnau de Vilanova inLleida.

We love Verdú

The Museum has reached an agreement with the school of Verdú, CEIP Jardí, by which it offers a free visit to all its students. The agreement also establishes an active association between both entities, with the exchange of knowledge and experience. In this way, the CEIP Jardí becomes the Museum’s Partner School.

Atthe same time, the Museum has organized a great number of activities in Verdú: the giant “Caga Tió”, the Fair of Antique Toys, opendoors visit days for all the town’s neighbours, support to theCollectors Fair…

Commitment to the territory

With the aim of boosting the social, cultural and touristic development of its region, the Museum has fostered many projects within the territory.

Fira Tàrrega: For the first time, and in three editions of the Street Theatre Fair at Tàrrega, the Museum produced temporary exhibitions of three theatre companies: Comediants, Tricicle and La Cubana.

Great Museums Rally: Together with the Motorbike Museum, a classic car and motorbike rally has been organized, joining the towns of Bassella and Verdú.

Commitment for Lleida: In order to dynamize the territory, the Museum has actively supported the Commitment.
